Over the course of the next month, I will be working on a project to display my skills to potential businesses. Through the completion of the project, I hope to showcase many of my existing skills, and to learn some new ones. Specifically, I want to use the portfolio project to showcase my commitment, work ethic, and my ability to learn new skills quickly. I also want to use this project as an opportunity to learn a hard skill, so that I can be capable of providing more value as an employee. Here were some of my initial project candidates for the next month:
1. Learn Mailchimp and create 5 video explainer videos.
2. Find a business problem and attempt to code a simple app to solve it.
3. Learn a series of Productivity tools used in businesses (Asana, TextExpander, etc.) and make videos about them.
4. Create a Youtube Channel and cultivate a following.
5. Learn how to become a salesforce admin, and then create a Udemy video course teaching others that knowledge.
After a long period of consideration, I decided that for next month, I will be doing the Salesforce Udemy project. I chose this project because I think it suits my goals the best. By learning Salesforce, and then teaching others about it, I will be showcasing my skills, and learning some new ones. This project will also be good practice marketing a product, and cultivating an audience through content creation. At the end I will be very familiar with Salesforce administration, which is a skill that can help me provide tangible value at a prospective business partner. I am very excited at the prospect of so much learning and growth over the course of next month, and will be sure to post updates regarding my progress and experience.
